I agree wholly. Gay people have a right. They fight for their rights, especially to marry. Here we have straight married people who can't even live with each other, and these people are fighting to be with their significant other--and yet we beat them down because we're all asses about it, and we can't handle change as well as we wish we could!

There's nothing wrong with being gay. But when you can't accept people for who they love, there must be something wrong with you.

Of course, if somebody that you know has fallen for an absolute jerk off, that's a whole other story.

Peace ouuuuuut. *fades into the shadows*

Though I have my reasons, I hate the term 'homophobia' I just hate people in general and follow the rules of nature, any one who gets in my face about that gets burnt!

"Heterosexist" is the more correct term, for anyone who is interested! There are a TON of really informative, helpful articles online if you would like to educate yourself and use more appropriate/PC language. (:

- Morgan Freeman, because it does matter.. Give him his due credit, why? Because you wouldn't want someone stealing your art and suddenly saying "- Does it really matter?" [link]

If that is the case (I personally don't know!) you should figure out who DID say it and quote them, not say "if it wasn't Morgan Freeman well who gives a fuck anyway" :P

well the point im trying to make is that is doesnt matter who said it. its the quote itself that is important, not who said it. i understand its not fair to the person who said it, but i highly doubt they'll see this. and if they, by some trick of fate, do see this, then im quite sorry

It's not whether or not they see it, it's a matter of giving credit where credit is due. For example, say you used someone's art for a CD cover, but they never saw it. That wouldn't make stealing it any less wrong! Do you get me? (:

[link] <-- Also, it looks like you'll be hard-put to find the true author of that quote! In which case you should write "-Author Unknown". The issue is, I think, that the language you used ("Does it matter?") sounds disrespectful, because that is someone's creative property, after all! I understand you just wanted to express that YOU didn't come up with it, and you don't know who did, but in that case like I said "author unknown" is the way to go. :D

im not trying to be disrespectful, ignorant, rude ot whatever other polite insults you can come up with. im just saying that who said is, no offensense intended, doesn't matter in this case. what i care about is the message, and that was what i was trying to share

Excuse me? I've been nothing but perfectly sincere, and I don't know where you're finding any "polite insults". YOU said that people were getting mad at you, and I was explaining why that might be and how you could fix it. I never once called you any of those words, so I'll thank you to not put them in my mouth. Literally all I'm doing is trying to help you out since you sounded frustrated.

I know you just care about the message, and it's absolutely one that I agree with, but even so that's someone's creative property and you have to give credit where credit is due if at all possible. The message being what's important doesn't change needing to be respectful, and I think the way you put "does it matter?" is what might be what rubbed others the wrong way. I wasn't ~offended by it personally but I see why others might have a problem with it. It's a tiny thing and not something you have to change! I was just explaining. >_>

I hate the word homophobia too, because of the way people throw it around.

I believe acting upon homosexual tendencies is wrong. I'm not scared, I just don't agree with it.

However, people are quick to slap labels like that on others. You might not realize it, but "Homophobic" is a label.

This day is about being positive, even if you don't agree with them.

Try being a bit more open-minded and realizing that people have different opinions. We all don't have to agree with each other, but we do have to have some sort of mutual respect.

Don't be a bully. (:

I agree that homophobic is a label, but the most likely reason I can think of that people get upset with you is the way you look at it. You say mutual respect like it is a political or religious opinion, but it really is a prejudice. I know most reasons given for said opinion are religious, but many people who practice said religions do not have this prejudice

Oh thank goodness. Finally found someone else :D

I'm really tired of all this. So many people don't realize that "homophobes" (or a-holes, as we are so kindly described) are bullied just as much as homosexuals. I know I've been bullied.

Aren't we people too? Or does sympathy only go to the gays?

I like the meaning you're trying to put out, but Homophobia also refers to people who are just afraid of their own sex because of tramatic experiences that involved their own sex, it doesn't mean they fear same sex couples or dating their own sex.

Well, I found it common sense to name a fear of your same sex as 'homo' meaning 'same'. Not homosexuality.

I disagree with this, honestly. Why? There are people out there who are scared of gay/bi/what-have-you people because they're not straight. You fear what you don't understand, and some people just don't comprehend that there can be alternate sexualities and identities. Not every person who is homophobic is an asshole. Generalizations don't get you anywhere, no matter what side you're on.

Ok, let me debate on this because you've completely missed the point on what she's on about. Think of the term "phobia" for a second, now what does that mean? Being in fear constantly and continuously. Now she was not about the ones who are homophobic (Maybe them, but correct me on that), she's on about the ones who are "homophobic". These twatfucks who claimed to be "homophobic" are the ones harrassing the people who are non-straight because they think they are "abnormal". And teens who got bullied that are in fact non-straight commited suicide for the pressure they had to put up with these mindfesting fucks. There are two sides of the coin that there IS a fear of gay people and the ones that hates and harrasses the gay people. Two of those things are completely different to each other. So correct me if I'm wrong on that statement.

First off, thank you for actually replying and not just stating "" with no justification or reasoning behind it. I mean, it's great if you don't like my opinion, but I want to know why you don't. So, thank you!

Alright. I am NOT saying that those types of people do not exist. That is not my point. My point is, there are people who fear them, and are not assholes about it. I know people who are friends with gay people, but may not necessarily advocate for their lifestyle. They like them as a person, but perhaps not that particular aspect.

If you are going to say there are two definitions for homophobia, then I am totally on board for that. Yes, there are those that the quote is talking about, those who are assholes and cannot leave people different from themselves alone because they are close-minded and have no tolerance whatsoever.

BUT, there is people who have a fear of gay people. You said it yourself. Phobia isn't necessarily being in fear constantly. There are different intensities, ranging from very slight to life-altering.

And not every homophobic is an asshole. That is my point. Can't make generalizations like that. Like you said, there are two sides to the coin. Two sides. There are always two sides. I am just broadcasting for the side the quote is not. That is all.
